Let’s Talk Greenovation – Foundation Event 2022
The invited experts included Prof. Dr. Dr. Joachim Schellnhuber, one of the world's most renowned climate experts, Kai Andersch, co-founder of Wilderness International, Prof. Dr. Matthias Drösler, who conducts research on peatlands and is scientific director of the CO₂-Regio project, and Dr. Antje Arnold, head of the biodiversity field of action in the Mission:Zero environmental protection programme at Audi.
To kick off the event, climate researcher Schellnhuber gave an impressive keynote on the state of our planet. Afterwards, the Greenovation stage was devoted to discussing forests, peatlands and biodiversity with the other experts.
In addition to exciting impulses, the objects brought along, behind which unique stories were hidden, were a special highlight of the event. Matthias Drösler brought along a four-meter-long peatland profile from the Freisinger Moos - freshly dug in the afternoon.
He showed that the younger peat layers are much drier than older ones and that that the increasing scarcity of water is leading to species extinction.
A successful evening thanks to the open and diverse exchange, which clearly made us want to repeat the evening. We look forward to the next round!
