Selective extraction – recovery of important industrial metals

In a new project, the Audi Environmental Foundation, together with the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg, is researching a recycling process for the recovery of strategically important metals that are necessary for modern technologies. The developed process of selective extraction enables the environmentally friendly recycling of indium, gallium and tin and enables them to be returned to the value chain.

Visions of the future at the One Young World Summit

This year, the Audi Environmental Foundation once again enabled 15 scholarship holders to participate in the One Young World Summit. More than 2,000 "young leaders of tomorrow" from over 190 countries met in Manchester to debate current social challenges. The focus was on topics such as conflict prevention, gender justice, oceans, ethical leadership and health.

"Restore our Bays": Coastal restoration in the U.S.A.

New project: The Audi Environmental Foundation recently launched the "Restore our Bays" initiative. Its aim is to rehabilitate coasts in the west and east of the U.S.A. To this end, the foundation cooperates with the non-profit organizations Save The Bay and The Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Audi of America is also supporting the project by volunteering its employees.

About the foundation

Audi Environmental Foundation GmbH actively supports research into new technologies and scientific methods for a livable future. Its stated goal is to make a contribution to environmental protection and to create and promote ways of behaving sustainably. The Foundation focuses in particular on promoting and developing environmentally compatible technologies, measures for environmental education and protecting the natural necessities of life for humans, animals and plants. It was established in 2009 by AUDI AG as a 100-percent subsidiary and is part of the company’s social and environmental commitment.
